The scheme is fully electric and utilises Air Source Heat Pumps as well as solar PV panels to achieve an EPC rating of A.
The site is located in Stockport, a major town in Greater Manchester. It is approximately a mile from Stockport town centre and is on the south side of Edgeley Road, opposite the junction with Heathbank Road. The original brownfield site consisted of a former petrol station, workshop building and an area of hard standing.
The scheme was designed from the outset to cater for the specific needs of the residents and delivers a high quality, state of- the-art care home over three floors. Within each floor resident bedrooms are clustered into smaller groups; creating a homely feel for the residents. The overall design is thoughtful, inclusive, and thoroughly designed to enable care staff to provide excellent care for the residents, whilst also considering future needs.
The scheme is of high quality and makes a positive contribution to the local distinctiveness and character of the area.
